Mar is Marjorie, Mar is the sea, Mar is Me, and this is my story...
Marjorie is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice weaves together painting, theater, and curatorial work to explore the simultaneous territories of memory, identity, and perception. With a background in fine arts and theater, her work reveals a deep understanding of composition, structure, and emotional storytelling. Her paintings inhabit the threshold between abstraction and suggestion, where color becomes atmosphere and gesture becomes a form of thought.

Her visual language draws from inner landscapes as much as from visible geographies: the light of Southwest Florida, cultural transitions, and the cycles of personal transformation. In each piece, Marjorie investigates the tension between chaos and order, between what emerges and what dissolves, inviting viewers to interpret the work through their own emotional lens.

As an art instructor, theater director, and creator of curatorial platforms —including Simultaneous Territories, a virtual space connecting Latin American artists— she combines technical knowledge with a poetic intuition that permeates her entire practice. Her work is created in Florida and is part of private collections and curated exhibitions internationally, consolidating an artistic voice that moves fluidly across disciplines and territories.

Artist's Statement

Arts were always part of my life. Coming from a family of painters, musicians, actors and writers. Creativity has been present all along. Therefore becoming an artist was in the cards. And so I start my path towards it. First, writing poetry and short stories. Later, painting and doing theater.

Creating is my favorite work. But through my paintings I found very early in my career that they were the best way to express my thoughts and feelings. Nevertheless I found that what moves me are the stories that build the images. Or better say, the images that recreate different stories and let me dive into magical worlds.

Immerse in the light of Florida, I found new stories to say through my paintings. Being born in a coastal city, and always surrounded by the sea, I know my relationship with the ocean is as deep as its waters. And being able to travel a bit and find myself in many shores enjoying the sand and salty waters around the clock. Watching and listening to nature fills me with energy and peace every time. And my work today is still trying to convey the dialogue with nature into my canvas.
